Outfit of the Day: Double Time With Friends

Hello Kittens

Last weekend I got to hang out with friends each day of the weekend. On Saturday Tim and I went to a farewell party for my husband's old high school friend who's moving down to LA. While it was sad to say "see you later" it was nice to see so many from that gang all together. It's been a while since seeing that crew.

Then on Sunday, in a slight contrast, I got to hang out with my high school/college friends but for our event we just hung around the house and watched a couple hours of Gilmore Girls while eating Thai takeout... after all, what are Sundays for?

Outfit of the Day:

Saturday:
For Saturday I wore my Trashy Diva purple and brown plaid Streetcar dress. I opted to wear this without the optional neck bow, and put on a black bolero to keep my shoulders warm. I paired this with none-other than my favorite black flats. It will be a sad day for me when I end up throwing these flats away.

Sunday:
On Sunday I wore a simple but sweet chiffon dress with elasticized waist by Willow and Clay which I got from Nordstrom Rack a few years back. It features cute little cream colored bows throughout the print as well as lots of ruffles. Thinking of comfort before all else I paired this with some black leggings and my black flats (for when we left the house to get the Thai).

I guess you can say dresses with leggings are my modern day version of house dresses. Do you have any particular style/combo that you like to wear while lounging around the house?

Outfit of the Day: A Day in the Sun

Hello Friends

This past Saturday Tim and I got out of the house for a bit to have a late breakfast, a visit with his mom, a walk in the park, and then ended the day enjoying green tea smoothies at the mall. On Sunday Tim wanted to take his boat which he's been working on out for a test run so I went with him.

Both days were nice sunny, and pleasantly warm days.

Outfit of the Days:

Saturday:
For this day's activities I wore my new to me Trashy Diva Ava dress in Sketchy Cherries print which I had just received from a swap and sell group the day before. I love Trashy Diva but I really love it when their dresses come in cotton! Because it was not too hot that day I also paired this with my Heart of Haute bolero and my black flats for comfort.

Also, for those readers that are familiar with Trashy Diva and wonder what the Ava dress is... it has the same body of the Ashley but with little capped sleeves rather than the usual ruffled sleeves of the Ashley.

Sunday:
For Sunday I put on my most casual and comfortable nautical themed dress, the Luscious dress by Pinup Girl Clothing in Navy with Octavio the Octopus. I paired this with a black under tank and my black flats because I didn't want to fuss too much but in hindsight I should have foregone the under tank and worn this with my navy flats.

Matching Your Dress To Your Teaware Part 14: By The Book

It's that time again for another Perfect Pairing!

This time with two of my favorite things: books and friends <3

When I saw my friend Bristol from Colour Me Bristol in her beautiful Bernie Dexter Chelsea dress in Books print I knew I had to feature her and this dress on my blog! Thank you Bristol for letting me :).

I love the books theme of this dress! Bernie Dexter definitely makes some of the most fun novel-tea prints in my book! ;) And I love the way super cute Bristol styles it here with her red belt and red peep toes with bows! What I love about Bristol's style is that she is always so bright and colorful and happy! Check out more of her awesome style and her blog here! :)

Pair the cuteness of this dress with Tony Carter's Books and Tea Teapot and you have a novel idea for a tea gathering!

I love novelty teapots and this one takes the cake on it's ingenuity. I love the variation of the staggered and stacked books as well as the tea cup and saucer that daintily sits upon it. Tony Carter's teapots are all individually designed, made, and painted by Tony Carter Ceramics in the village of Debenham, Suffolk England. I found this teapot online from the shop British Isles which carries not only teaware and tableware but also tons of specialty tea, treats, foods and more!

Ahhh books, tea, and friends! Sounds like a perfect pairing to me!

Outfit of the Day: Out To Lunch

Last Saturday my mom got me out of the house by taking me out to lunch

After lunch we did our favorite thing-- go shopping! It was a nice day. The sun was out even though it was really windy and cold. You've got to appreciate that sun though!

Outfit of the Day:

For this day's activity I wore my Trashy Diva Ashley dress in Crepe Myrtle. I paired this with my black cardigan and black sweater tights and I am so glad I did since it was colder out than it looked! For convenience, I also wore my trusty black flats.

Outfit of the Day: Lunch and Crushed Ice With a Friend

I'm still so heart broken over the passing of my girl but I've been trying to pick myself up and get out more.

Last week I went out with a friend for lunch then out for crushed ice and frozen custard afterwards. Lunch was nice. I got to have pork nachos which I have been craving for months, and crushed ice and frozen custard is always good. Also it was so good to be around a friend and to spend time walking around, and talking with them.

Outfit of the Day:

For this day's outing last Sunday I wore my new Trashy Diva Dorothy dress which I bought at Cognito earlier last month. It was a warm day but I put on a black cardigan anyway which was good because the restaurant was cold! I paired this with my easy black flats.
